Government has been cautioned against downplaying the critical role that the private sector will have in restructuring the Zambian economy.
The Economics Association of Zambia (EAZ) is reminding the government that macroeconomic stability entails allowing the private sector to thrive.
EAZ president Chrispin Mphuka says this means that government needs to create an enabling environment for the private sector.
Dr. Mpuka has told QTV News that his Association is however aware that the extent to which government has to facilitate this enabling environment is limited.
He notes that in restructuring the economy government’s commitment is to reducing fiscal deficits.
