Finnish Ambassador to Zambia Timo Olkkonen says diversification of the Zambian economy is one of the positives he has picked out from President Edgar Lungu’s speech to Parliament today.
Mr. Olkkonen says he has also noted that as a way of developing the Zambian economy, President Lungu placed emphasis on Agriculture.
He however, notes that the president did not emphasize on fiscal consolidation in his speech.
Mr. Olkkonen says this is notwithstanding the fact that he indicated plans to grow the economy by double digit as well as reducing inflation to single digit.
He adds that he did not hear much on the savings that need to be made from the country’s national budget to make ends meet.
