FDD Spokesperson Antonio Mwanza says the convention will be held between December 9 and 12, and that all the positions including the party presidency will be contested.

He says the party’s National Policy Committee resolved in May that the party holds a convention in order to promote intra party democracy as well as allow fresh leadership to run the affairs of the party and prepare for 2021 general election.

Mr. Mwanza has since assured party members who have been expressing the need for the party to hold a national convention not to worry as the position of the National Policy Committee has not changed.

He has since encouraged all FDD members who qualify in accordance with the party’s constitution to contest for various positions.
