Former Finance Minister Katele Kalumba says the advantages of accepting an IMF bailout outweigh the disadvantages.

In an interview with QTV News, Dr. Kalumba says this is especially given the investment in infrastructure.
Dr. Kalumba who served as Finance Minister under the Fredrick Chiluba MMD administration says it is this investment in capital projects that will in the long term benefit the country.
He says the major capital investment has enabled the country to have forward linkages to support expansion for among other sectors Agriculture and Commerce.
Dr Kalumba states that it is therefore necessary to accept that Zambia needs a bailout from the IMF to make this possible.
