The Zambia Center for Inter Party Dialogue (ZCID) has encouraged President Edgar Lungu and UPND Leader Hakainde Hichilema to embrace dialogue in addressing the political animosity in the country.
The ZCID notes that without dialogue, it will be difficult to address the current political hostility following the outcome of the 11th August general election.
ZCID Executive Director Horrance Chilando tells QTV News that while his organization does not agree with the mode of communication used by the UPND Leader to call on President Lungu to dialogue over the happenings in the country, it is important that the two leaders meet to discuss the way forward in restoring peace and unity in the country.
He says now is the right time for the two leaders to show quality leadership.
Mr Chilando says the restoration of peace largely depends on President Lungu as he is the one in the driving seat.
He has also appealed to the UPND Leader to show leadership over the physical attacks on innocent Zambians in areas perceived to be his party’s strongholds.
