Visiting Namibian President Dr. Hage Geingob has observed the need for African Countries to closely work with the Private Sector and local entrepreneurs in advancing economic growth.

The Namibian Head of State said this in Lusaka this afternoon when he officially opened this year’s Agriculture and Commercial Show which is held under the theme “managing environment for growth”.

Dr. Geingob says it is gratifying that African countries have realized that creating conducive policies for investment purposes is the correct thing in advancing economic growth.

Dr. Geingob states that there is also need for African countries to diversify inputs and increase exports in order to strengthen African’s external position.

And the Namibian Head of State has encouraged Zambian businesses to take advantage of the Zambia and Namibia strategic regional project which is the Walvis bay Ndola – Lubumbashi corridor for easier trading.

Speaking at the same event, Agricultural and Commercial Show Society of Zambia President Ben Shoko says plans are underway to modernize the show grounds to suit the current trends of agricultural needs.

Mr. Shoko says the society is also pleased with the increase in number of women participating in farming and livestock in Zambia saying this should be promoted by all stakeholders.
