The ruling Patriotic Front has in a rare move commended the opposition UPND for rescinding its decision to shun the national prayers for peaceful elections.

PF Deputy Spokesperson Frank Bwalya says his party believes that when people who had earlier refused to participate in prayers decide to change their mind, they should not be condemned.

Mr. Bwalya says this is because such people may have realized the importance of praying just like a sinner repents his sins.

In an interview with QTV, Mr. Bwalya says it is for this reason that the ruling party will encourage the UPND to join the rest of nation in prayer as opposed to laughing at the opposition party.

Mr. Bwalya states that the PF wanted the UPND to be part of the prayers in the first place.
