ZAM sees china’s restructuring an opportunity for Zambia

The Zambia Association of Manufacturers (ZAM) says there is need for Zambia to take advantage of the economic restructuring taking place in China.

ZAM Chief Executive Officer Maybin Nsupila says China’s restructuring from a manufacturing to a service driven economy provides a great opportunity for emerging economies like Zambia.

In an interview with QTV News, Mr. Nsupila says ZAM is aware that by this restructuring, China wants to provide manufacturing related services which will come along with a relocation 85 million jobs.

Mr. Nsupila says what this entails therefore is that there will be a relocation of manufacturing plants from China to other countries.

He says ZAM believes taping into this yawning opportunity from China is what will help the country move away from the trap of having an under developed manufacturing sector.
