The Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) has reminded all show goers to be quality conscious and shun substandard products as they do their shopping during this year’s Zambia International Trade fair which has started today, 29th June, 2016 under the theme “Enhanced Value Addition for Job Creation”.

ZABS head of marketing and public relations, Hazel Zulu says consumers should not to be overexcited about the variety of products available at the show and the competitive prices on offer, but should take a few minutes of their time to read details on the packaging of the products to ensure they have vital product information before making the final decision to buy.

Ms Zulu says Consumers should also insist on buying products whose labeling is clearly written in the English language, which is the official language of communication and business in Zambia.

She reminds consumers that they have the right to product information to enable them make informed purchasing decisions and get value for their money.

Ms. Zulu says during exhibitions and trade shows, various products are sold to show goers, hence the need for them to be mindful of what they are buying and refuse to buy substandard products.
