Patriotic Front Secretary General Davies Chama says the ruling party does not take pleasure in the shutting down of the Post Newspapers.

Mr Chama says he finds it most unfortunate that the closure of the Post Newspapers for none payment of taxes has been politicized.

He says it is asking too much for anyone to suggest that the Post is being persecuted when what has led to its closure borders on criminality.

Mr. Chama says the ruling PF strongly believes that the Post newspapers deliberately opted not to meet its tax obligation with a view of having the ruling party perceived as an oppressive government.

In an interview with QTV, Mr. Chama says what should not however, be forgotten, is that it was  in fact the PF government that once helped the Post get a waiver of K16 million in tax penalties it was slapped with.

Mr. Chama has since dismissed assertions that the Post Newspapers is being persecuted.
