UPND President Hakainde Hichilema has demanded for the reopening of the Post Newspapers which was closed by the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) this week.

Mr. Hichilema says the actions taken by President Lungu against the Post can never be justified and demonstrate the broken democratic society he has created.

Mr. Hichilema says instead of trying to talk about policies and how leaders will improve the lives of the Zambian people, President Lungu’s tactic is simply suppression.

He says The Post Newspaper represented one of the last beacons of democracy in Zambia’s broken nation, and never strayed from holding those in power accountable.

He adds that the Post is a major employer of people, both directly and indirectly and that at a time when Zambia needs to create jobs more than ever President Lungu’s actions once again go against the needs of the country.

The UPND Leader says this action also sends a terrible signal to the business community and will further put them off investing in the country.
