Police in Lusaka have arrested a man of Lusaka’s Mazyopa compound for stabbing his cousin to death using a knife.
Police Assistant Public Relations Officer Esther Katongo has identified the accused as Rodgers Simwinga aged 36 of Mazyopa while the deceased has been identified as Oliver Silavwe aged 22 also of the same area.
Ms Katongo explains that the incident happened yesterday around 21:00 hours.
She says Mr. Simwinga is reported to have stabbed his cousin on the left side of the chest after a domestic quarrel.
She says the victim sustained a deep cut and died on the way to Chipata clinic and that the body is lying in UTH mortuary awaiting postmortem while the accused is detained in police custody and will be charged with murder.
In Mansa District, a male juvenile aged seven, identified as Epelo Mwenya of Chimpata Village, Chief Mabumba of Mansa died in an accident which occurred yesterday around 09 00 hours on old Mansa road.
Ms Katongo says the accident happened when the juvenile jumped and held on to the edge of unregistered tractor MF 440 which was in motion, fell off and died on the spot.
She explains that the tractor was being driven by Peter Musonda of research compound, Mansa District.
The body is lying in Mansa general hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
