UPND will not accept polls outcome – Sejani

The opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) says it will not accept the outcome of the August 11 elections if it loses citing what it has described as the confusion surrounding the verification of the voters register.

UPND Chairman for elections Ackson Sejani has told a media briefing in Lusaka this morning that the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has disfranchised about 2,198 voters in Southern Province whose details are appearing wrongly in the register.

UPND chairman for elections Ackson Sejani has told a media briefing that there are so many lacunas in the ongoing verification process.

Mr. Sejani says the ECZ should put its house in order and correct some of the mistakes the party has observed.

Mr. Sejani has also complained that the Examinations      Council of Zambia is also taking long to attend to party aspiring candidates who are trying to verify their Grade 12 certificates.

Meanwhile Mr. Sejani says the UPND is not happy with the manner in which the Police have responded towards those vandalizing its campaign billboards.

He has since called on the Zambia Police and ECZ to ensure all players are given enough space and a level playing field during campaigns.
