TIZ seeks to know source of funding for presidential marketeers empowerment project

Transparency International of Zambia (TIZ) has expressed disappointment over the failure by the Secretary to the Cabinet to explain the source of the presidential marketeers empowerment fund.

TIZ Executive Director Goodwell Lungu says it is been some time now since they wrote to the secretary to the cabinet seeking clarity on where the funds being distributed are coming from, but that there has been no response.

Mr. Lungu points out that the office of the president is a public office and all the functions he undertakes are public and the people deserve to know where the funds are coming from.

He states that it is important that people are told the source of the funds so that they avoid suspicions.
