Govt urges foreign contractors to help local contractors

Special Assistant to the President for Project Monitoring and Implementation, Lucky Mulusa is concerned with lack of support from foreign contractors in helping government promote local contractors’ participation in developmental projects. Mr. Mulusa has observed that many foreign contractors have not being helping government in promoting local participation especially in manner they price the rates of jobs which are subcontracted to the local companies. He says in most instances foreign contractor’s page subcontracts at low rates much to local contractors dissatisfaction. He says such conduct by foreign contract has potential to frustrate government’s efforts of enhancing local wealth retention. Mr. Mulusa warns that government will deal with such conducts in order, to arrest the situation.
