Police dispel media reports that they have arrested more ritual killers
The Zambia Police have dispelled reports in yesterday’s daily nation attributed to unknown sources stating that the police officers were seen leading suspects in the cases of ritual killings into one of the car parks in Matero area.
Police Assistant Public Relations Officer Esther Katongo says their investigations at the material day had nothing to do with the car park and at no point did the officers enter the alleged car park.
She says their interest was the stretch of the road and not the car park.
Mrs. Katongo has since reiterated the call for members of the public to desist from spreading unverified reports and also the media to always have their facts verified with relevant authorities before dissemination because such reports may lead to victimization of innocent people.
She says the police will inform the members of the public through the media on the findings once investigations are concluded.
Mrs. Katongo has further appealed to the public and the media to give the police space for is space for them to do thorough investigations.
