Zambia’s economic future ‘gloomy’ – Noel Nkhoma

Economist Noel Nkhoma has maintained that Zambia’s economic future is very gloomy as all economic fundamentals are still in bad shape.

Featuring on Q Breakfast Show this morning, Mr. Nkhoma says this is the more reason why Zambia should embrace the International Monetary Fund (IMF) package in order to stabilize the economy.

Mr. Nkhoma says Zambia hasn’t managed fiscal policy that reflects of discipline and responds in a manner that addresses the challenges the country is currently facing.

He has encouraged the government to improve on fiscal discipline if the country’s economy is to come back on track.

Mr. Nkhoma, who is also former Economic Association of Zambia (EAZ) President, says there is need to change the attitude in the way Zambia manages its fiscal policy.
