Govt,Cooperating partners ponder on 7NDP

inonge-wina-women-summitGovernment says the implementation of the Seventh National Development Plan (7NDP) requires the breaking down of silos mentalities within and across all sectors of the economy.

Acting president, Inonge Wina says this is what government envisaged will help it do more with less, particularly that Zambia is financially inhibited.

And Ms. Wina who is also republican vice president and Minister of National planning says given that the 7NDP is founded on an integrated and sectoral approach, government intends to on the onset build a secured and shared development vision with its cooperating partners.

Ms. Wina was speaking this morning during a Government/Cooperating partners consultative process on the formulation of the Seventh National Development Plan which is to run from 2017-2021.

Speaking at the same event European Union (EU) Head of Cooperation, Aad Biesebroek said the EU wants to understand and know how it can be helpful in Zambia’s development plan.

And World Bank Group Country Director, In-Marlene Ruthenberg says the global bank being a cooperating partner wants to be supportive to Zambia’s new national development plan.

And UNAIDS Country Director Medhin Tsehaiu says formulation of Zambia’s Seventh National Development Plan is critical especially given the fact that the Country has adopted the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
