MMD MPs head to court over convention

MMD Members of Parliament calling for the holding of the party convention before April 2016 say they have been left with no option, but to seek legal redress over the holding the convention.

Reacting to Dr. Mumba’s insistence that the party will not hold the convention this year, MM D Ikeleng’i Member of Parliament Elijah Muchima who spoke on behalf of other MPs has wondered why Dr. Mumba is afraid to go for the convention if he is popular in the party as he claims.

He says the current MMD Leadership is rotten and that the party will not even manage to get the 15,000 votes Dr. Mumba got during last year’s presidential by-election.

Mr. Muchimba tells QFM News that MMD Members of Parliament calling for the convention do not want to be embarrassed the same way the party was embarrassed during last year’s presidential elections, hence their call for the convention to help bring sanity in the party.
