Four perish in road mishap

Four people have died in a road traffic accident after a Toyota Haice minibus registration number BAC 314 they were travel

ling in, overturned several times on the Great North road this morning.

Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) Acting Senior Public Relations Manager Fredrick Mubanga has told QFM News that three people died on the spot among them two girls from Moomba Secondary School in Chisamba District and the conductor of the bus.

He says a third pupil died at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH).

Mr. Mubanga says the accident happened after the minibus lost control and overturned on the Great North road near Savanna Park.

He adds that the driver of the minibus identified as Lucky Chimanga,24, of Chazanga compound in Lusaka and nine other p

upils , among them seven girls and two boys from the same school are admitted to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH).

Mr. Mubanga says preliminary accident have revealed that the driver was over speeding, and lost control while trying to overtake another vehicle from the left side, and in the process overturned several times.
