The opposition National Restoration Party (NAREP) in western province has backed the decision made by the party President Elias Chipimo Junior to withdraw from contesting in the 2016 presidential race.

NAREP Western Province Youth Chairman Songiso Simasiku says the withdrawal from the presidential race will allow the party to concentrate on winning parliamentary and ward seats.

Mr. Simasiku has told QFM News via telephone that contesting the presidential election would have been a waste of resources and time for the party.

He says NAREP stands a good chance of winning the 2021 elections after working on the party structures across the country.

Mr. Simasiku adds that the party in western province will support whichever political party Mr. Chipimo will rally behind.
