President Edgar Lungu is today 12:00 hours expected to hold his first Press Conference nine months since being elected President.

The press conference by the Head of State comes at a time when the country is facing serious economic challenges which have been compounded by the fall in copper prices on the international market, the country’s major foreign exchange earner, the continued depreciation of the Kwacha against major foreign currencies and the rising inflation which has hit double digits.

The fall in copper prices has further been compounded by the power deficit the country is facing forcing some mining companies to lay off thousands of miners.

President Lungu’s press conference will therefore be closely followed by stakeholders and Zambians in general who are feeling the impact of the economic shocks.
