Power Dynamos have confirmed that they will not be pursuing an extended loan deal for defender Derrick Mwansa from Nkwazi.

Mwansa has been on loan at Power from promoted Nkwazi for the duration of the 2015 FAZ Super League season.

“They (Nkwazi) have written to us indicating that they would not want to enter into an extension of that agreement,” Power club secretary Ricky Mamfunda said.

“And so the player is going back to Nkwazi.”

Mwansa is set to return to Nkwazi after two successive loan stints with the Kitwe club.

His first stay was with Nkana in the 2014 season and this term moved across the road to Power where he also enjoyed another successful stay.

Meanwhile, Mamfunda has revealed that Power have extended midfielder Larry Bwalya’s stay with the six-time champions after joining the Kitwe club this year from Nchanga Rangers where he was also on a short-term deal.

“Larry is staying on and we have spoken to his parent club K-Stars about a further loan extension,” Mamfunda said.

“Otherwise we have not received any queries yet for any player’s yet and we are yet to announce who is staying or leaving for the 2016 season.”

Power finished third in 2015, dropping a notch from their runners-up spot in 2014.

Zanaco and Zesco United finished second and first respectively.
