Home Affairs Minister Davis Mwila has warned Zambians against assisting foreign nationals in obtaining National Registration Cards (NRCs) during the ongoing issuance of NRCs exercise

Mr. Mwila says any person found assisting foreigners to acquire NRCs will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the Laws of Zambian saying it is an offence to do so.

The Home Affairs Minister said this in a speech read for him by his Permanent Secretary, Elywn Chomba during the launch of the third phase of the mobile issuance of NRCs for North-Western province in Zambezi District.

Mr. Mwila has implored all Members of Parliament, traditional leaders, civil society organizations and the media to sensitize communities about the exercise so that many people can obtain NRCs and participate in national development.

He has urged the people to take the 2015 mobile issuance of NRC seriously if they are to contribute to issues of national development.

And Mr. Mwila says government is aware of the challenges affecting the people in rural areas.

He says it is for this reason that government is in a hurry to address these challenges such as poor road network among others.

Speaking at the same occasion, Zambezi District Commissioner Catherine Mukuma says a lot of people will be mobilized during the exercise despite the poor road network on the west bank.

Ms Mukuma has since urged the people of Zambezi to register as soon as the exercise commences.
