Republican President Edgar Lungu says late President Michael Sata left a legacy that will live on for a longer period of time.

Speaking during the memorial service to mark one year since President Sata’s passing in Lusaka today, President Lungu says President Sata is the architect of the massive development being undertaken in the country today.

President Lungu says President Sata endeavored to deliver his campaign promises as seen from the various development projects being undertaken in the country.

He says the former President pioneered and harmonized the health sector by taking health services closer to the people by building more health centers and upgrading the existing health infrastructure.

The Head of State says Mr Sata inspired many people by not giving up despite being in the opposition for ten years.

President Lungu says the late President also created new districts as a way of taking service delivery closer to the people as well as create job opportunities for the local people.

He adds that he is an accomplished politician because President Sata groomed and mentored him well to manage politics in the country.

Speaking on behalf of the Sata family, former Vice President Guy Scott said President Sata cared for the people of Zambia and did his part in helping them.

Dr. Scott says President Sata was a man for the people who stood ready to hear the people he was governing.

He says Mr Sata knew politics to perfection and the political front will miss him for that.

Dr Scott also disclosed that he has written a book entitled ‘Black and White’ as a contribution to President Sata’s memories.
