Police arrest Ndola man who registered three times as a voter

The Electoral Commission of Zambia has commended the Zambia Police command on the Copperbelt for arresting and prosecuting the person who was reported to have registered three times as a voter.

ECZ Public Relations Manager Crispin Akufuna says the said person will appear in court tomorrow,27th October,2015.

He adds that the Commission, working in conjunction with the Zambia Police and the District Electoral Officer, is also actively pursuing another reported voter registration malpractice in Chipata and will inform the nation investigations are completed.

Mr Akufuna says the Commission reminds citizens that it is an offence to unscrupulously register as a voter more than one.

He has also called on members of the public to be alert and report any malpractices to the Police.
