Zambia, Swaziland need more trade linkages- King Mswati

King Mswati the third of Swaziland has observed the need for his Kingdom and Zambia to establish more trade linkages.

King Mswati is of the view that the current global economy requires that countries integrate and cooperate through trade.

He believes that trade between Zambia and Swaziland will be strengthened further owing to the agreements that the two nations now have under the SADA and COMESA regional bodies.

King Mswati notes that this is while both Zambia and Swaziland look forward to the conclusion of continental free trade which is anticipated to open up further trade among African countries.

He states that his Kingdom is also confident that the tripartite free trade area anchored on market integration, industrial development and infrastructure development will assists in achieving this goal.

King Mswati has since reaffirmed his Kingdom’s commitment to the free trade area initiative.

He was speaking this afternoon at Lusaka’s Hero’s Stadium when he graced Zambia’s 51 Independence Day celebrations as guest of honor.

And King Mswati whose Kingdom has joined Zambia for the first time in celebrating its national day, has expressed his Kingdom’s humbleness for the invitation its has been given to join the celebrations.

King Mswati notes that Swaziland’s presence at Zambia’s Independence Day attests to the fact that the people of Zambia and those of his Kingdom are one people.

Speaking earlier President Edgar Lungu observed that King Mswati’s presence at Zambia’s Independence Day celebration is a reflection of the warm relationship that exists between Swaziland and Zambia.

President Lungu who last night hosted a State banquet in honor of the visiting King, states that Zambia finds the people of Swaziland to be peaceful and friendly Kingdom.

He notes that the task that people of Zambia now however have 51 years after Independence is to consolidate this day by promoting inclusive social and sustainable development.
