The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) says cartels have been formed to fix prices of goods and services above the competitive levels thereby disadvantage the consumers.

CCPC public relations Officer Hanford Chaaba says the commission is to this effect investigating allegations of price fixing against millers.
He says if the allegations are proved to be true, necessary action will be taken in accordance with the law.

Mr Chaaba says this will serve as a lesson to market players that price fixing and conspiracy to the detriment of the consumer will not be accepted.
