Nevers,Chipimo endorse declaration of 18th Oct as national day of prayer

MMD President Nevers Mumba has welcomed the decision by President Edgar Lungu to dedicate 18th October of every year to God.

Dr Mumba says it does not matter that God has used President Edgar Lungu to declare 18th October as a national day Nevers 1of prayer to be gazetted as a public holiday

He notes that the dedication of a day of prayer and fasting to God is what makes Zambia different from other nations, adding that the annual observation of the day will portray the true Christian values of the country.

He explains that it is important for the nation to continue seeking God in the years to come on 18th October through prayers and fasting even in good times.

Dr. Mumba states that the country should not just turn to God when things are not okay.

Dr. Mumba says those who understand the importance of prayer and fasting feel proud to be Zambians as it will be a great opportunity to spare time to honor God every year as a nation.chipimo 2

He has since encouraged Zambians to take the day seriously by praying and fasting and not as an ordinary public holiday.

And National Restoration Party (NAREP) President Elias Chipimo has welcomed the declaration of October 18th as a national day for prayer.

Mr Chipimo says God will bless Zambia and the nation will move forward if the people continue to seek him.
