The Apprentice 2015: Lord Sugar ‘can’t wait’ for Arnold Schwarzenegger to ‘cock-up’ US version

LORD Sugar “can’t wait” to watch Arnold Schwarzenegger make a “cock-up” of the US version of The Apprentice.

The British businessman was considered as a replacement for Donald Trump in the American instalment of the programme, and while he was eventually discounted he admits he is keen to see what the former Governor of California does.

He told OK! Online: “Well they’ve got Arnie now, haven’t they? I’ll be over in America and I can’t wait to see what a cock up he’s going to make of it!

“They did consider me, but to be perfectly blunt, the American public don’t know who I am, which is fine and why I spend most of my time over there.

“It would have been an interesting thing to do but the producers decided they wanted someone who the American public knew.”

When questioned about people such as Katie Hopkins and James Hill using the show to further their public persona, Lord Sugar believes the producers “try” to make sure they get the best people for his show.

He said: “We do our best to try and recognise when we’re recruiting people. We do an investigation into who they are.

“Fortunately the social media availabiltity, we can look at people’s claim to fame.”

When asked about James Hill winning The Apprentice, he responded: “James who?”
