The Zambia Center for Inter Party Dialogue (ZCID) has cautioned political parties against politicizing this month’s national day of prayer and fasting saying this is the time to reconcile.

ZCID Executive Director Horrance Chilando has expressed shock that some political parties are refusing to be part of this important event saying the country indeed needs to get united.

Mr. Chilando says it is through such platforms that people of Zambia can come together and settle their differences and not opting to stay away.

He believes that this is the best time for Zambians more especially politicians to quench the fire that is in the political sphere.

Mr. Chilando has explained to QFM News in an interview that there are certain things that should not be subjected to politics such as things of God.

He says that the people of Zambia expect political parties to take the call by President Lungu to pray and fast and ask for forgiveness and reconciliation seriously and not subjected to politics.

He adds that it does not matter who has called for this important event but the motive behind it is what should attract political players.

The ZCID Executive Director has since urged all political parties in the country to take this call seriously if they want to be taken seriously by the people.
