Kabwe’s Kasavasa community cries for more health workers

The people of Kasavasa community on the western outskirts of Kabwe town have appealed to the government to consider sending more health workers to the health centre in the area.

The residents say while the appreciate the services being provided by the health personnel at the health centre, they feel the five health personnel are being overstretched considering the growing population the health centre is catering for.

One of the residents Irene Mwaba explains that due to lack of adequate staff at the health centre, certain times patients are not attended to.

She has also notes that while the health centre is catering for a big population of people, there is lack of adequate bed space.

Another resident Jackson Matalisa has also called on government to beef up the number of health personnel at the health centre.

He has also called for need to provide the health centre with adequate emergency vehicles to transport patients that require emergency services.

Meanwhile UPND Chinyanja Ward Councilor in Kabwe’s Hamududu area Enock Ng’andu has appealed for more boreholes to be sunk at Hamududu primary school.

Mr Ngándu says the school has one unreliable borehole which carters for 600 pupils.

He has also called on government to consider building more teachers houses as the school only has four houses against an establishment of twenty two teachers.
