ZNS to assist Malawi in establishing National Service Defense Forces arm

The Zambia National Service (ZNS) says it will assist Malawi in her quest to establish the National Service arm of the Defense Forces.

ZNS Commandant Lieutenant General, Nathan Mulenga says his institution is ready and willing to help Malawi because of the long standing strong relations and cooperation between the two countries’ Defense Forces.

Lt. Gen. Mulenga made the remarks during a cocktail party hosted in his honor by the Malawi Defense Force at Kamuzu Barracks in Lilongwe.

And Lt. Gen. Mulenga also hailed the bilateral ties between the defense forces of Zambia and Malawi which had over the years seen many officers benefit from exchange training programmes at various military institutions in the two countries.

Lt. Gen Mulenga said this cooperation should continue for the betterment of the two defense forces and the countries.

And Malawi Defense Force Deputy Commander Lieutenant General Supuni Phiri has indicated that Malawi will not hesitate to seek assistance from the Zambia National Service Command once its plans of establishing the Service reach an advanced stage.

Lt. Gen. Mulenga and his entourage are in Malawi at the invitation of the Malawi Defense Forces.
