National prayer & fasting declaration welcomed

The Christian Coalition has expressed happiness over President Edgar Lungu’s declaration of 18th October as a national day of prayer and fasting.

Coalition President, Dr. Charles Mwape says it is good that the President has realized the importance of prayer as a powerful tool to deal with the challenges the economy is facing.

He says it is also through prayer that leaders are given wisdom to govern the nation, thus it is important for the country to pray and fast as one.

Dr. Mwape says different congregations should on the declared day of prayer and fasting gather in their localities to ask God to heal the nation.
And the Independent Churches of Zambia (ICOZ) President Bishop David Masupa says it is important for people in the country to reconcile and forgive each other as a way of moving on.

Bishop Masupa says it is important for the people of Zambia to live in unity and love, and that this can only be attained through such prayers.

He has since encouraged Zambians to seek the face of God together through prayer and fasting.

  1. Zambia shall be saved. It shall be well with Zambia. My prayer is that, these prayers will not be the first and last, but they shall continue even days, months, years to come. In Jesus’s name.
