Police clear GBM

Police have cleared UNPD Vice President for Administration Geoffrey Mwamba of any wrong doing over allegations that he held public political meetings in Kasama without a Police permit.

Mr Mwamba appearGBMed at Kasama Central Police this afternoon after being summoned for questioning.

Police Spokesperson Charity Munganga Chanda has disclosed to Qfm News that Mr. Mwamba who was in the company of his wife, clarified that he was in fact buying fish and not holding public political meetings as suggested.

Ms. Chanda says for the fact that Mr. Mwamba who is also the former Kasama Central Member of Parliament was able to justify his actions he has therefore not committed any offence.

She states that Mr. Mwamba has however been advised to in future always notify the Police whenever he wants to hold a public political meeting.

She has also appealed to all political leaders in the country to abide by the provisions of the public order Act each time they want to hold public gatherings.

Ms. Chanda says this is in order for the Police to guarantee their security.
