Govt calls for establishment of new sources of energy

Government has encouraged Zambian technocrats with workable ideas to come on board in strategizing the establishment of new sources of energy in the country.

Youth and Sports Deputy Minister Ronald Chitotela has particularly urged technocrats in the country to come with a strategy that will see another Energy source established in Northern Province.

Mr. Chitotela thinks that it has now become imperative that government shifts its attention to securing investments to Northern Province where there are abundant water bodies.

Mr. Chitotela who is also ruling PF Pambashe Member of Parliament says in Northern Province there are five waterfalls which are suitable for the establishment of hydro power stations.

He believes that establishing another energy source in Northern Province will help in supplementing power supply in the country and thereby help easy load-shedding in Zambia.
