ZP urged to conduct transparent recruitments

The Zambia Police has been urged to conduct recruitments in a transparent manner to enable qualified candidates enroll to avoid enlisting unqualified people.

Hope for Human Rights Executive Director Smart Chanda says the Zambia Police should promote transparency in its operations especially with the public perception it has of being one of the most corrupt institution.

And Mr. Chanda has also observed the need for government to discipline and inspect police officers on how they are handling cases in their respective areas.
He has particularly appealed to the Zambia Police command to fire officers for what he terms as inappropriate use of force and detention of suspects in cells for a long time without proper information.
