President Lungu asked to consider turning Chambeshi a District

Republican President Edgar Lungu has been urged to also consider create Chambeshi on the Copperbelt into a district.

Political activist Chikabala Kaleta Chambeshi has grown in terms of population and therefore it should qualify to be a district.

He says creating Chambeshi a district will benefit the local people especially with the current situation where the town reports to Kalulushi District which denies the town access development.

Mr. Kaleta who is also an economist by professional says the crime rate in Chambeshi has risen due to the fact that even in terms of security for the area they depend on the police service in Kalulushi.

And Mr. Kaleta says Chinese people have refused to take development in Kalulushi because they want to take it in Chambeshi where they are found.
