Bank operations not affected by load shedding – BAZ

The Bankers Association Zambia (BAZ) says the banks operations are not affected by the continued load shedding that the country is currently experiencing.

BAZ Administrative Officer Annie Chimota has told QFM Business News that the banks had already invested in power generators even before there was no massive load shedding knowing that power can cut anytime.

Ms. Chimota however notes that the only problem that they may face is that their customers may not be able to deposit as much as their production levels will be slow.

She adds that the issue of power cuts is a call for everyone to invest in generators so that they can maintain their productions in view of the ongoing load shedding.

Ms. Chimota further states that it is important for all institutions to prepare in advance for things such as the investing in generators even without load shedding stressing that they can never know when situations require such may come.
