Home Affairs Minister Davies Mwila has assured all Members of Parliament that the police will not disturb their meetings in their respective constituencies but have to follow the correct procedure.

Mr. Mwila says there is nothing wrong for all MPs to notify the police when they want to hold meetings in their constituencies.

Mr. Mwila explains that this is in accordance with the Public Order Act that each time individuals want to hold public meetings they should notify the police so that they are aware of every move.

He says the police’s presence is not required when MPs are holding such meetings but that they should just be aware that there is such a meeting taking place.

He adds that he also informs the police each time he goes back to his constituency in Chipili and that all MPs can do the same.
