Government has assured the nation that the recruitment of 73 Immigration Officers and 389 Prison Service Officers will be transparent.

Home Affairs Minister Davies Mwila has told QFM News in an interview that people should not be spreading fears that the recruitment process will be marred with corruption.

Mr. Mwila states that the authority has been given by the treasury to recruit about seventy three Immigration Officers and is hopeful that the recruitment exercise will be done on merit.

He says his ministry is waiting for the authority from the treasury to recruit the 389 Zambia Prisons Service Officers and is confident the exercise will be done soon.

The Home Affairs Minister has since disputed claims and fears that the recruitment process might be marred with corruption and only people who know someone from Immigration Department or Ministry of Home Affairs will be recruited.
