Rainbow challenges PF on withholding tax

Government has been challenged to revoke the withholding tax on rentals if it really cares about the Zambian people.

The opposition Rainbow Party has fears that implementation of the law to stat collecting this tax will increase poverty in the country.

Spokesperson Goodson Banda states that this is particularly that it is expected that rentals will go up on once the Zambia Revenue Authority begins to collect this tax.

Mr. Banda has wondered how the lives of the majority Zambians that pay rentals will be when this happens at time that the cost of living is already high in the country.

He says his party thinks that by wanting to operationize the law to start collecting the withholding tax government is in fact creating another big problem for the country.
