The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has postponed the dates for the commencement of voter registration exercise that was scheduled to start on the 17th of August this year.

The exercise will now commence on the 14th of September this year at designated voter registration centers and civic centers of all councils.

ECZ Public Relations Manager Crispin Akufuna has disclosed to Qfm News the postponement is due to delays in the procurement of equipment and materials for the exercise.

He states that the closure of the voter registration at civic centers in all districts still however remains the 31 of March 2016.

Mr. Akufuna has since advised people in the country that other planned activities have been rescheduled accordingly.

He says commission has to this effect met all registered political parties and informed them of the rescheduled dates.
