Zambia Defeat Ghana 3-0 in COSAFA Plate Semi-Final

The Zambia national football team has reached the 2015 Cosafa Cup plate final following a comfortable 3-0 victory over West African guests Ghana at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Wednesday.

And Green Buffaloes midfielder Allan Mukuka was voted the man of the match.

Two goals in the 25th and 29th minutes from Bonwell Mwape and Aaron Katebe respectively gave Zambia a 2 – 0 lead before the half hour mark and Nathan Sinkala put the icing on the cake three minutes before the break.

Coach Honour Janza said he was happy with the reaction and character his team showed following the victory.

“It is a good result because every coach wants positive results. Positive results motivate the boys and it also gives you a lot of hope fortomorrow,” Janza said.

“The character was positive; we were able to react positively when the opponent had the ball, we had to close them down as quickly as possible and to deny them space because if we gave them space they would have dominated and punished us.
