Lungu hails donor support to health & education sectors

Republican President Edgar Lungu says government is grateful for the technical support in the health and education sectors Zambia continues to receive from the international community.

The Head of State said this today at State House when he received credentials from Ambassadors accredited to Zambia from Australia, Bulgaria, Eritrea, Republic of Korea, Niger and Senegal.

President Lungu says the technical support received by Zambia is valuable as it assists to improve service delivery in the two sectors.

He adds that Zambia apprecEDGAR CLiates high level interactions with other countries at both bilateral and multilateral levels.

President Lungu points out that Australian companies account for a substantial portion of investment in the mining industry which is a key economic growth sector in Zambia.

He says Zambia seeks to strengthen political and economic ties with Bulgaria for the benefit of the two countries.

And President Lungu says he will take seriously the concern raised by the Eritrean envoy to Zambia about promoting peace in the African region and lifting the sanctions imposed on that country.

And President Lungu says he is fully aware that South Korea is among the leading economies in Asia and has made great advancement in the fields of electronic, telecommunication and automobile production and hopes that Zambia can explore corporation in these areas.

President Lungu adds that the Republic of Senegal has a reputation of being one of African’s successful democracies and enjoys a stable social and economic environment and hopes that Zambia will benefit from that.

The Ambassadors who presented their credentials include; Suzanne Mccourt from Australia, Bulgarian Ambassador to Zambia Katya Deleva, Salih Omar Abdu fro Eritrea, Korean Ambassador to Zambia Kwon Yong – Kyu, Rakiaton Makayi of Niger and Senegalese Ambassador to Zambia Momar Diop.
