Equitable education lies in sound policies- Kaingu

Government has observed that achieving quality, inclusive and equitable education for all by 2030 still lies in sound policies and planning.

Education Minister Michael Kaingu says this entails that efficient implementation arrangements have to be put in place.
Dr. Kaingu states that this is why his Ministry has found fit to set,” Implementation of the Revised Curriculum” as the theme for this year’s Joint Annual Review (JAR)Technical meeting.

He says the theme clearly resonates very well with the desire of government to improve quality education in the country.

Dr. Kaingu also notes that the 2015 JAR is convenient because it has come at a time that the world is reviewing and taking stock of the progress made regarding the Education for All goals that were adopted in Dakar, Senegal 15 years ago.

He says the question that needs to be asked therefore is whether Zambia has achieved what it committed itself with regards the EFA goals.

Dr. Kaingu said this in a speech read for him by Local government and Housing Minister John Phiri at the official opening of the JAR technical meeting in Lusaka today.
