Opposition is giving Lungu a free ride – Zambian Voice

Opposition political parties in the country have been accused of failing to exert sufficient pressure to offer substantive checks and balances to President Edgar Lungu and the ruling Patriotic Front (PF).

The Zambia Voice thinks that whole what the opposition has been doing ever since President Lungu assumed office and formed new government is to issue petty criticism.

Executive Director Chilufya Tayali says this is because such criticism does not concern governance.

Mr. Tayali has told Qfm News that President Lungu has in fact been enjoying free ride and that he would do better as Head of State to ignore the petty comments coming from the opposition.

He says the Zambian Voice is of the view that as opposed making petty comment’s on the President’s health, the opposition should instead focus on issues of corruption, policies and governance.

Mr. Tayali has cautioned the opposition to be wary that if they continue in the manner that they have been giving checks and balances, the will be partly to blame and held accountable if President Lungu and his administration fails to deliver to the expectation of the Zambian people.
