Opposition is doing less to unite Zambia – Changala

Opposition political parties in the country have been accused of doing less to unite the nation following the 20th January presidential election which is said to have left country highly divided.

Civil rights activist Brebner Changala has observed that the civil society has also misplaced its role of consolidating unity in the country.

Mr. Changala has told Qfm News by telephone that in view of the political situation prevailing in the country, it is important for political players to speak the same language that will bring people together.

He says the current political situation which appears to be marred by traits of self interest and misinformation requires that inflammatory statements are avoided.

Mr. Changala has advised that it is in the interest of all citizens especially those that want to lead the nation now or in future to unite the people so that when their time comes they will not preside over a divided nation.
