Political scientist Alex Ng’oma has observed that Zambia is still politically polarized despite having ushered in a new President.

Dr. Ng’oma says the political polarization that is evidenced by the distance that has been sustained between government and opposition political parties is similar to that which existed prior the death of President Michael Sata.

He has told Qfm News by telephone that if nothing is done now to easy such political tension, it may gain momentum as the country draws closer to the 2016 general elections.

Dr. Ng’oma says it is thus important for President Edgar Lungu’s administration to strive to unite the country.

He says the Patriotic Front government must come up with strategizes that will help neutralize the divisive political mood in the country.
