Lusaka Water happy it has meet MGD on sanitation

The Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company has expressed happiness that it has managed to meet the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) on sanitation by ensuring that more than 75 percent of people in Lusaka District have access to clean water.

Company Marketing and Public Relations Manager Topsy Sikalinda has told Qfm News that currently, over 86 percent of people in Lusaka have access to clean water surpassing the 75 percent MDG target.

Mr. Sikalinda says the utility company will not relent but continue implementing projects that will see to it that more people in the province have access to clean and safer water.

He says the onus is on the people by ensuring that the infrastructure that is being put up by the company is safeguarded and protected from any form of vandalism.

Mr. Sikalinda adds that people should also play a conservative role by ensuring that there is no water wastage.
